CrossWalk

For a little while,
I had nobody,
And nobody had me,
Sort of
I gotta guy.
He keeps me safe,
Ahem, kept.
Makes me look, twice,
Before I cross the street.

I get light headed,
Lifting my thoughts,
From my head to my heart,
While I feel an arm,
Drape over my shoulder,
From that,
I could tell.
Could be just the drink,
But I couldn’t tell.

That’s how I feel,
Ahem, felt,
About a night,
Passed out in the bed,
A bed with dreams
Of another man’s might.
Boy I just won a friend.
A Good Friend.
Who makes me look twice,
Both ways,
When I cross that Galway Street.
