Happy Birthday

It’s my birthday.

I’m twenty-one.

Isn’t that beautiful?
Of all the things in the world
That could kill me,
They didn’t.
They failed…
Infinitely.
While I succeeded,
Once.

It’s like there’s a force,
Guarding me from death.
Call it luck,
Hare Krishna,
Or normality.
It’s so strange,
‘Cause now,
It’s starting to guard me,
From me.

It’s so strange,
Thinking about it.
‘Cause I got it,
But I’m not sure,
If I want it.
20’s done.
And now begins twenty-one.

My wishes?
Oh, there’s just a few.
Like here’s to hoping,
That I don’t stop myself,
From reaching twenty-two.
