Hamster Wheel

She’s out there
Floating away,
My love.

I cannot reach her,
But my words can.
I cannot pull her to me,
But maybe my words can.

They can tether together,
And wrap around to get her.
I cannot speak to her
Or pull her in myself.

The thing is.
I will write.
I will write about her,
And how I was right.
My words will be ceaseless in love,
Knowing no length, duration, or quality,
Too short, long, or strong.

I will grab the rings of Saturn,
And wring out every diamond,
Until it is enough.

But I know,
She went West
And turned her back.
She went West
And is never coming back.
